THURSDAY'S SHOPPING

I really blew the budget this week but I really couldn't pass up the meat deals at Food Town and Kroger. I had a coupon from Kroger for $3.00 off a $15.00 meat purchase. Since I was completely out of pork sausage, and it's on sale this week, I decided to splurge to use the coupon. The thing about the coupon was that it said that at least one item purchased had to be more than the amount of the coupon. The pork sausage was only $2.50 so I had to buy something else that was more than $3.00. Kroger has 3-pound bags of frozen boneless chicken thighs for $4.99 this week so that was what I got. I got the chicken and five rolls of sausage. Since they're both packaged meats, I also got my 10% senior discount on them. So, what I paid after the discount and the coupon works out to $1.59 pound which is a very good price for chicken and sausage.

Eggs were still 99-cents at Aldi so I picked up a couple dozen even though I didn't really need them. I could have gotten pizza sauce for 99-cents at Aldi but theirs has added sugar so I didn't buy it. This week the Ragu brand was cheaper than Walmart's own store brand by a couple cents so that's what I bought.
